Background:

J started out life by being born in Veilstone City to a fighter and pokemon trainer. Her mother, Morgain, gave birth to J in the winter month of November as the snows drifted through the mountainous terrain. It had been a blizzard year and so J was called a blizzard baby by her father, the fighter, Damian. The couple managed to live peacefully until their child turned four. Damian had fought to provide for his kid but after being beaten down, he hit a rough patch and picked up some nasty habits. One of which happened to be dabbing into drugs on the side. As a result, he became abusive toward Morgain and even attempted to go after little J at times. The young child was smart however in managing to find numerous safe spots to hide in the city to avoid his rages.

Unfortunately, her mother too grew to gain a vice. That was alcohol and the couple would often clash violently at one another. After two years of living in a whirlwind of violence, hatred and constant state of being aware, J was taken away by child services and placed into a foster home in Eterna City. She had a hard time adjusting and started to act out against some of the older children that started to pick on her for her short size for being her young age. Of course, as she aged and was placed into foster homes, she got even more feral in nature. J despised being stuck with families that only wanted to show off how generous they were for her. People pitied the girl and she abhorred it greatly. By the time she was fourteen, she had been in and out of foster family homes a total of twenty five times and had been dubbed “The Cursed One” by the children and the staff of the foster home she was stuck in. She was often left alone and grew used to being a solitary kind of person unless provoked for some reason or another. What kept her calm was reading numerous books and she found herself growing greatly interested in the idea of hunting pokemon for profit as she had a natural pull to it.

The older kids teased her about her fascination but she would always shoot back with the same comment of making herself well known for doing what others could not fathom. She also made it a goal to meet the then infamous Hunter Z who was already a rising star with books and all sorts of other things. Little did J realize, how much of an impact the man would have on her many years down the road. She ended up staying at the foster home until she turned sixteen and left without saying a word. The staff realized she had gone without a trace and didn’t even bother looking for her. Who were they to care that a troublesome kid had vanished and left behind a more peaceful place to handle?

J managed to support herself doing odd end jobs. She started off as a waitress in some restaurants before working her way into mechanic shops to work on bikes by the time she was eighteen. It was a skill she quickly grew familiar and relied upon during her wandering travels. However, despite managing to hold odd jobs, she still had a rough time surviving and had to turn to stealing food and other items to sell off for a profit to stay kicking. J got caught quite a lot and was often under suspicion for continuing her habits as she got a bit older in some of the cities she passed through. She had grown into a hardened and strong woman who often used a motorcycle to get from place to place by the time she was twenty three. An arrest record that spanned ten pages was already working on growing to a higher amount as well.

The woman was tested however as she was working her way up a mountain ridge to head through to new locations by a gang of rough looking men. They all appeared to be biker kind of guys or rather no good kind of guys with a bad attitude. The group were working on capturing a large male Salamence who was fighting back angrily at their tactics. The dragon blew flames at the group but it only ended up getting slashed up and even subjected to being shot through his wings numerous times to disable him from flight. J for some reason felt something drive her into the fray and sure enough she stood in the way of the men getting a hold of the dragon. The men fought back against her but she was faster and more experienced in dodging movements. She countered when they swung and disarmed when they went at her with knives. By the end of the fray, J sustained a few slash scars on her body with a rather nasty one across her back from a Charizard that went after her. However, she ended up realizing just how she won once she started to get up onto her feet.

A large Garchomp had thrown the Charizard back but it wasn’t just any Garchomp. It was Hunter Z’s. J was in disbelief as Z had stepped into the fray to end it and was even more floored when he held out a hand to help her get onto her feet solidly. He insisted she come with him but she made a point to acquire the injured Salamence in a pokeball before joining the well known hunter to his air ship. She was tended to by medics and quickly found herself entranced with everything aboard regarding the hunter’s trade. By the end of her healing period of a month and a half, Z had grown fond of her and allowed her to join the crew as a green horn hunter. The woman didn’t disappoint the man either as she quickly learned the trade and advanced on her skills with each passing year that she spent on the ship and around Z. J finally felt like she had someone who cared about her for her skills, talents, and of course, being herself. With Z, she felt a connection that usually was reserved between a father and daughter.

That bond deepened over time. J grew more experienced and quickly ranked up to being second in command of all the business that went on before she was twenty eight. Z knew she had the natural talent and feel for the job and as a result, gave her the ship when he retired when she was thirty four. Z at that time was sixty seven and wanted to step out of the life style due to his age. J understood and proudly accepted the honor of inheriting his ship and his ties from his work. The female hunter worked hard and worked the crew even harder over the next few years until the incident at Lake Valor. The airship crashed into the lake and no one was thought to have survived the crash. J lived only because of a certain woman and her Starmie.
